Take your personal style to the next level with these steps:

Get Fit
The first step toward achieving individuality is to always use a good tailor. Even if you have great clothes, it’s all a waste of time and money if they don't fit you right. If a man’s pants aren’t hemmed to the right length -- or if his jackets and shirts aren’t taken in -- he looks schlumpy. Get things tailored to you -- it'll give you a sleek look that will separate you from the pack.

Mind Your Mop
A good haircut is also important -- especially for a man. You can’t look pulled-together with a bad cut, no matter how much you’re spending on your wardrobe.

Shine Those Shoes
If you’re wearing nice black shoes from Hugo Boss, Ferragamo, Gucci or Prada, then they must be polished. Otherwise, you’ll look like you’re reaching without knowing what you want.

Wear a Timeless Watch
A good watch is important because it shows status, stature and style. I like Tag, Movado or a Breitling. Cartier is probably the best for a couple of thousand dollars. In addition to people recognizing the brand and your good taste, your watch will last for a long time. A Rolex is fine, but only if you’re over 40.

Expand Your Palette
If you really want to stand out, choose a colorful signature piece that will spice up an outfit. It could be a bright belt or a pink shirt, even if you’re a bit nervous about wearing it. It will say you’re stylish and unique. It will never let you down.
